The Law Office of Paula E. Berg focuses primarily on assisting clients with domestic relations matters. Attorney Paula Berg is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and New York. A 1987 magna cum laude graduate of Connecticut College, Ms. Berg earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1994. Prior to founding the Law Office of Paula E. Berg, Attorney Berg worked in the legal field for seven years, most recently at a large Boston law firm representing clients in domestic relations and civil litigation matters. Ms. Berg is a zealous advocate for her clients in matters pertaining to all the issues present in divorce and family relation matters, including domestic violence, custody disputes, asset division, child support, visitation, alimony and paternity. Among her many accomplishments, Attorney Berg obtained a $200,000 judgment in Superior Court for the plaintiff-victim of domestic violence in a civil assault and battery case, primarily for emotional distress damages. In another case, Ms. Berg successfully defended against a false paternity action using DNA evidence and literature explaining the reliability and methodology of DNA testing. Attorney Berg is committed to a proactive, team-centered approach to client representation. Her philosophy is to empower her clients by educating them so that they are able to make informed decisions under her guidance and care. Attorney Berg is especially sensitive to the fact that client goals evolve throughout the litigation or negotiation process, and she works closely with each client to pursue the strategy best suited to obtaining these often changing objectives. Ms. Berg earned a certification in Mediation from the Attorney General's office in 1988, and uses her mediation skills to negotiate the best possible outcome for her clients. In addition to her creative problem-solving skills, Attorney Berg is known for her compassion and dedication toward those she represents. Attorney Berg volunteers her time as an active member of the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts Board of Directors, and is Co-Chair of the WBA's Legislative Policy Committee. She is also a Member of the Massachusetts Association of Guardians ad Litem. |
